Siena College Pitchers Join 2019 NavigatorsLYNN, Mass. -- The North Shore Navigators will have a pair of New York native right-handers on their roster this summer as James Flood and Arlo Marynczak signed to pitch for the Futures Collegiate Baseball League club after completing their freshman year together at Siena College. Director of Player Procurement Joe Gill announced the signings on Wednesday. With these two additions from the Saints of Loudonville, N.Y., a total of 20 players have officially been named to the North Shore roster for the coming summer. “James and Arlo add to a group of Division 1 players that is larger than the Navigators have had in years,” said Gill. “We’re excited to welcome them both from Siena College. Although they are both freshmen, they have both worked quite a bit so far this season and we expect them to be big contributors to our pitching staff.” Flood has thrown scoreless ball over two of his first three collegiate appearances, earning a Feb. 25 victory at Stetson after pitching 1.1 innings of one-hit ball. Prior to joining Siena, the 6-foot, 185-pounder finished his Red Hook High School career by earning Honorable Mention All-Star honors from the Poughkeepsie Journal and played his summer ball for the prestigious Taconic Rangers. Flood was one of the top pitchers in New York as he earned a spot on the Prep Baseball Report East Futures Team. A towering presence on the mound at 6-foot-7 and 225 pounds, Marynczak has been a key member of the Siena bullpen early in the season with seven strikeouts through his 5.1 innings of work. The Delmar, N.Y., native was named both a Section II and Suburban Council First Team All-Star after going 4-1 with a 0.78 ERA as a senior. Marynczak struck out 53 batters and allowed only 15 hits over 40 frames for Bethlehem Central High School. Stay tuned as the Navigators will be announcing more additions to the roster in the coming weeks and months in preparation for the 2019 season. The team’s home opener at Fraser Field is slated for Saturday, June 1. |
