Three Navigators Set to Play in Sunday's NECBL All-Star GameLYNN, Mass. -- Three members of the North Shore Navigators were selected to participate in the 2021 New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL) All-Star Game, which will take place on Sunday, July 18 at Cardines Field in Newport, R.I. First baseman Logan Bravo (Harvard), pitcher Jackson Emus (Princeton) and center fielder Joe Lomuscio (Stanford) will represent the Navs on the Northern Division squad. Bravo has been the team’s top power threat as he entered Friday’s game at Winnipesaukee with a team-leading six home runs, which are tied for fourth-most in the league and most in the division. Through 23 games, he hit .260 and led the North Shore offense with 19 runs scored. Five of Bravo’s Navs franchise-record 16 long balls have come during his nine-game hit streak. The Andover native and Austin Prep graduate, who is in his third season wearing a Navs uniform, was selected to the team as a designated hitter. The lone pitcher, Emus has amassed a 3-0 record since joining the starting rotation a week into the season. He currently ranks third in the NECBL with a 1.88 ERA and has allowed just 18 hits across his 28.2 innings. The righty from Clinton has started two of the team’s league-leading four shutouts, pitching seven innings in a June 24 outing against Winnipesaukee that earned him NECBL Pitcher of the Week honors, and 5.1 on the way to Monday’s 2-0 win over Keene. Lomuscio will be patrolling the grass in an NECBL All-Star Game for the second time after earning the same honor for the Valley Blue Sox back in 2019. The Brown graduate and former captain is North Shore’s leader at the plate this summer with a .311 average and hits in 19 of his 24 contests. His 18 RBI are good for second in the division, and two of them have decided walk-off wins for the Navs. The West Roxbury native’s five stolen bases sit second on the team. The trio has helped the Navs post a 13-11-2 record in their first NECBL season since 2011, tied for third in the division with the North Adams SteepleCats. North Shore entered the weekend having won seven of its last 12 games. The Newport Gulls will play host to the 2021 NECBL All-Star Game for the fourth time (2005, 2010 & 2016). The All-Star Game showcases the NECBL’s top talent in a fun-filled afternoon and evening of the best the league has to offer, with players from all 14 NECBL franchises showcasing their skills in front of scouts from every Major League Baseball (MLB) organization. Gates open at 2 p.m. and the exciting Home Run Derby kicks off the afternoon’s festivities starting at 3 p.m. The All-Star Game itself will begin with pregame ceremonies at 4:40 p.m. Tickets are $8 (general admission) and can be purchased in advance by clicking here or at the gate.
