LYNN, Mass. -- The North Shore Navigators will have plenty of Ivy League representation on their roster for the upcoming 2021 New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL) season, beginning with three players from nearby Harvard University.

One of the Navs’ top hitters last summer, infielder Logan Bravo is slated to return for his third year with the club. The Andover native split time between the corner infield positions and shortstop over all 38 games in 2020, hitting .328 with 10 extra-base hits, 20 RBI, 20 runs scored and an .872 OPS. Bravo ranked second on the team in hits (45) and total bases (61) last season, while his 130 total bases across two summers are good for fifth in Navs history. His junior season at Harvard was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Joining Bravo on the infield will be classmate Hunter Baldwin, who was a regular in Harvard’s lineup over his first two college seasons. After hitting .248 with nine extra-base hits, nine RBI and 20 runs scored for an Ivy League championship-winning team as a freshman, Baldwin went 5-for-19 with a team-leading four RBI in six games during the shortened 2020 season. The Houston native played shortstop or second base for the Crimson.

Rounding out the Harvard trio is right-handed pitcher Jay Driver, a Wellesley, Mass., native who was slated to play his freshman year at Harvard in 2021. The 6-foot-3 righty was the Bay State Conference’s 2019 Most Valuable Player and earned Boston Globe All-Scholastic honors as he helped Wellesley to the Carey Division title and a Division 1 state runner-up finish. He earned four wins and posted a 1.65 ERA with 74 strikeouts on the mound that year.

The Navigators are excited to return to the NECBL for the 2021 season, which will begin on Friday, June 4 at Lynn's historic Fraser Field. Stay up to date on the latest Navs news by visiting nsnavs.com and following the team on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
