Navs Finalize Roster with Seguin, Lynn's TurenneLYNN, Mass. -- The North Shore Navigators are excited to announce the addition of two more players to fill out their opening roster for the 2020 Futures Collegiate Baseball League season. Returning pitcher Cam Seguin (UMass Lowell) and Lynn native Ryan Turenne (Maine) are the club’s final additions before Thursday night’s season opener at Nashua. President and General Manager Derek January made the announcement, welcoming the two products of the local Catholic Central League and now the America East Conference. Seguin returns to the Navs for the second straight summer following his freshman year at UMass Lowell. The Woburn native joined the club as an Austin Prep graduate in 2019 and posted a 2-0 record, 2.78 ERA and team-leading 41 strikeouts in 32.1 innings. He was the Navs’ lone high schooler selected as an FCBL All-Star last year and earned Most Outstanding Pitcher honors at the FCBL All-Star Game. At the college level, Seguin was a key reliever for the River Hawks as a freshman, going 1-0 with a 2.61 ERA over his co-leading seven appearances this spring. A former Catholic Central League All-Star and two-sport athlete for the Spartans of St. Mary’s High School, Turenne will play for his hometown team as a rising junior at the University of Maine. He played in 10 of the Black Bears’ games in 2020, recording a double, two home runs, four RBI and three runs scored while ranking third on the team with 13 total bases. Turenne was an America East All-Rookie Team honoree last spring as he hit .245 with four doubles, two homers and 13 RBI. The Navs are set to begin the 13th season of collegiate ball at Fraser Field and their ninth in the Futures League on Thursday, July 2.
