Power & Pitching Performances Headline Navs' College Week![]() LYNN, Mass. — Here are the latest college baseball highlights for incoming North Shore Navigators players: Todd Clay (UAB) has been one of the best hitters for average in the American Athletic Conference all season, but he showed off his power stroke against USF this past weekend. He recorded four hits in the series, including his first two home runs of the season in as many games. In the series opener, he hit a two-run shot in the first inning and later added a double as the Blazers went on to win 3-1. He finished the weekend 4-for-12 as he upped his slugging percentage to .600 and OPS to 1.147 mark on the season. Fellow corner infielder Marc Willi (Massachusetts) found himself in the lineup all week long as the Minutemen took on Towson and Fordham. Willi did his part in a 20-15 shootout against the Tigers, as he blasted a three-run homer in the eighth inning to keep his team within striking distance. Even though UMass could not escape with the win, it was Willi’s second big fly of the season and brought his RBI total up to six. The home run surge continued with Jesse Jaconski (Penn State) posting a two-homer, six-RBI game in an 11-5 Saturday win over Big Ten foe Michigan State. The North Shore returnee highlighted the day with a sixth-inning grand slam, which was the fifth of the season already for the Nittany Lions. He also hit a solo shot in the third. For the season, Jaconski now ranks second in the Penn State lineup with seven homers and third with 25 RBI in 22 games. Catcher Brody Dalton (St. John’s River State) has been one of the most feared power hitters in all of NJCAA Division 2, ranking second nationally in home runs (12) and fourth in RBI (40). This past week was no different, as he finished 6-for-13 with three home runs, including a two-homer day against Seminole State. He followed that up with a monster 3-for-3 performance on Friday with another home run, a double and two walks. Infielder Owen Galt (Louisiana) had a big performance in the Ragin’ Cajuns’ Friday night victory over South Alabama. The freshman infielder went 3-for-4 with a double, four RBI and a hit by pitch. Galt’s biggest blow was a two-run double in the fourth inning which put Louisiana up 3-0 at the time in an eventual 7-1 victory. Two of North Shore’s three Stonehill players contributed to another Northeast Conference series win, as the Skyhawks took two of three against Maryland Eastern Shore. After homering on Wednesday at Rhode Island, center fielder Sam Parks recorded four hits, including a double, an RBI and four runs scored during the weekend set. Parks started the weekend with a 2-for-4 Friday performance before crossing the plate three times on Saturday. A recent Navigator signee, catcher Aidan Sengenberger had three runs scored and an RBI on the week, and he ranks second on the Skyhawks with a .385 average along with a .954 OPS, 10 RBI and 13 runs scored through 17 of the team’s 19 games. Ivy League play is underway, and it was a great start for Liam Kinneen and Princeton as it swept Dartmouth in a three-game series. The freshman from Lexington followed up the Tigers’ 14-inning Saturday win with a lights-out performance on Sunday, hurling seven innings of shutout baseball, only surrendering four hits and two walks on the afternoon. Behind Kinneen, the Tigers rolled, winning 8-1 to finish the sweep and improve to 3-0 to start Ivy play. Nahant native Nick Reiser (Bridgewater State) was the closer this past week for the Bears, as he collected his first two saves of the season. His first came against Dean in the midweek as he slammed the door, striking two batters in a 1-2-3 ninth inning. On Saturday, he completed the team’s doubleheader sweep of WPI. He worked around a walk and a hit to strike out the side to close a 4-2 win. A recent addition to the North Shore roster, Reiser’s Bears teammate Trey Yesu struck out five in five innings en route to the winning decision on Saturday in Worcester, following up a complete-game shutout against Cairn the previous week. Yesu has a 1.64 ERA with 21 strikeouts in 22 innings on the season. Two first-time Navs’ teams went head-to-head in MAAC play this past weekend, with PJ Craig (Rider) tossing a gem on Saturday against Merrimack. In his fifth start of the season, Craig filled up the strike zone all afternoon and ended up throwing six innings of three-run baseball. He did not allow a single free pass and struck out eight as the Broncs got a 5-3 victory. On the Merrimack side, Cole Yennaco locked up a 7-3 Sunday win for the Warriors by throwing three hitless, scoreless innings with three strikeouts en route to a save. It was Yennaco’s fourth consecutive shutout relief appearance. Gloucester’s Zach Morris (Rhode Island) made a pair of 1.2-inning relief appearances against Stonehill and George Washington, combining to post five strikeouts. Four of them came in the Rams’ 3-2 win over Stonehill, as he allowed just one hit in the outing. The Navigators will return to historic Fraser Field and the NECBL for their 18th summer collegiate season in 2025, with first pitch set for Tuesday, June 3 against the Northern Division rival Upper Valley Nighthawks.
