Hard Hitting, Upset Win Highlight Navs' Latest College Performances![]() LYNN, Mass. — Here are the latest college baseball highlights for incoming North Shore Navigators players: Two incoming North Shore players are having a major impact in Winthrop's 7-4 start. Ethan Wilson continued to swing it well as the Eagles hosted Wagner over the weekend. Wilson's series was highlighted by a strong Saturday performance in which he went 2-for-4 at the plate, hitting his fourth home run of the season and driving in two runs. He is already up to 17 RBI on the season to lead all incoming Navs players and has a .682 slugging percentage. Ben Rehkow has allowed just one earned run in 5.1 innings pitched on the season after striking out the side in the eighth inning to pick up the 13-11 Saturday win. A NECBL All-Star outfielder last summer, Jesse Jaconski (Penn State) enjoyed his best game of the spring on Saturday, hitting two homers and driving in four for the Nittany Lions in a 16-7 win over VCU. Three of his first seven hits have left the yard. Jaconski is now on a five-game hit streak, helping his team score double-digit runs in the first four of those contests and improve to 8-1. The other Navigator with double-digit RBI at the Division 1 level thus far is Todd Clay (UAB), who had three hits, two RBI and did not strike out during the Blazers' three-game sweep of North Alabama. He drove in runs in the Friday and Sunday games, going 2-for-3 with a double on Sunday. Through 11 games, Clay is hitting .387 with five doubles and 12 RBI. Jack Gold (Pomona-Pitzer) continued his Division 3 success, hitting two more homers to up his season total to six, scoring four runs and driving in four to help the Sagehens in a series against Redlands. He hit safely in each of the three games and now has a six-game hit streak. Gold has a team-leading .364 average and 1.583 OPS after 11 games. Stonehill teammates Sam Parks and Nate Kearney both had solid performances as the Skyhawks played a three-game series against UNC Asheville. Parks went 2-for-3 with a double, homer and two runs scored on Saturday, while Kearney finished that same game with his first career RBI and also had a hit and a run scored during the weekend. It was a solid week for redshirt sophomore first baseman Marc Willi (Massachusetts) as he started two of the three games in the Minutemen's series at Coppin State. He helped the team with a single, three walks and a run scored over the weekend, as well as playing a role in the team's dominant 22-7 win on Sunday. Back on the mound, Liam Kinneen (Princeton) made his second straight Sunday start for the Tigers. The freshman righty from Lexington was given the ball against No. 12-ranked Wake Forest, and he delivered 5.2 innings of three-run baseball, only surrendering five hits and striking out two en route to his first collegiate win. The Tigers pulled off a massive upset, getting their first win of the season and beating Wake Forest 7-6. Cole Yennaco (Merrimack) struck out four batters across two relief appearances against Bryant and FIU last week. In the latter game, he worked into the 10th inning and recorded three of his four outs by way of the strikeout. Nahant native and third-year Navigator Nick Reiser (Bridgewater State) pitched in Bridgewater State's season debut on Friday at UMass Boston. He pitched a scoreless final inning, capping it with a strikeout. The Navigators will return to historic Fraser Field and the NECBL for their 18th summer collegiate season in 2025, with first pitch set for Tuesday, June 3 against the Northern Division rival Upper Valley Nighthawks.
