LYNN, Mass. -- As another New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL) season fast approaches, the North Shore Navigators have added to their pipeline from familiar programs and added two new pitchers to the 2023 roster.

Joining the Navs from Northeastern University will be North Andover product Brett Dunham. The sophomore right-hander has thrown 15.2 innings over 13 relief appearances for the ranked Huskies, compiling a 3.45 ERA and 11 strikeouts in that time. He earned his first collegiate victory back in March against Merrimack. Dunham will reunite with North Shore veteran Jake McElroy (Holy Cross) this summer, as the pair played together on a 2019 Super 8 state championship-winning team for North Andover.

Fellow righty Jake Needham will stay in-state for his first summer baseball experience after completing his freshman season at the College of the Holy Cross. The Winchester native logged 24 strikeouts in 20.2 innings of work for the Crusaders, finishing seven of his 12 relief appearances without allowing an earned run. Prior to debuting for the Crusaders, he pitched three seasons for New England prep school powerhouse Phillips Andover. He captained the Big Blue and helped the team win the 2022 Central New England Prep title.

The Navs kick off their 16th summer of collegiate baseball on Wednesday, June 7 and will host their home opener at a renovated Fraser Field on Friday, June 9. The 2023 season includes 22 home games, as well as the return of the NECBL All-Star Game to Lynn on Sunday, July 23.
