LYNN, Mass. -- The North Shore Navigators will welcome a pair of pitchers from Stonehill College to the team for the 2023 New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL) season.

Zach Gleason is set to head down to Fraser Field from Danville, N.H., following his sophomore year with the Skyhawks. Gleason was originally slated to join the Navs last summer before an injury ended his freshman season at Stonehill in mid-April. The 6-foot-2, 193-pound right-hander made an impact right away, going 3-1 with a 5.19 ERA and 35 strikeouts in 34.2 innings last season. Six of his seven appearances were starts. Gleason attended Timberlane Regional High School, where he was a three-year letterwinner in football, basketball and baseball.

The other half of the Stonehill duo is Jordan Marot, a 6-foot-4, 210-pound junior righty who began his college career at Franklin Pierce. The native of Johnston, R.I., made his first two collegiate appearances last spring and will look to compete for innings during his first go-around with Stonehill. Marot, who attended Rhode Island power Bishop Hendricken High School, posted 40 strikeouts and a .230 opponent batting average over 36 frames with the Futures League’s Norwich Sea Unicorns during the summer of 2022.

Stonehill is one of the nation’s newest Division 1 programs and will be competing in the Northeast Conference for the first time in 2023. Swampscott native Luke Marshall, who is the Navs’ career strikeouts leader, is a Stonehill grad and was Gleason’s teammate last spring before moving on to Fairfield University.

The Navs kick off their 16th summer of collegiate baseball on Wednesday, June 7 and will host their home opener at a renovated Fraser Field on Friday, June 9. The 2023 season includes 22 home games, as well as the return of the NECBL All-Star Game to Lynn on Sunday, July 23.
