LYNN, Mass. -- The North Shore Navigators’ roster for the 2021 New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL) season will include representation from Seton Hall University for the second straight year. Infielder Jonathan Luders is set to return to the North Shore club while bringing along two pitchers from his current sophomore class with the Pirates.

Luders was a sparkplug for the North Shore offense and team’s primary second baseman in 2020, hitting .328 with a .458 on-base percentage, two doubles, seven RBI and 12 runs scored in 24 games. The former Lynnfield standout has started 17 times and reached base at a .433 clip during his second spring at Seton Hall, recording hits in three straight contests and four of the last six. Four of his six RBI this season have come within that recent span.

One of two first-year Navs from the New Jersey school, left-hander Aaron Groller has pitched in four games out of the bullpen for the Pirates this spring. The Harleysville, Pa., native is holding opponents to a .133 average as he has allowed only two runs on two hits while striking out four. He also pitched two scoreless innings during the shortened 2020 season.

Hailing from South Plainfield, N.J., Chris Shine has appeared in six games and emerged as one of the Hall’s starting pitchers during the first few weeks of Big East Conference play. The righty did not allow an earned run over his first three outings and currently sports a 2.61 ERA with 19 strikeouts in 20.2 innings. He earned his first collegiate win against George Washington in March.

The Navigators are excited to return to the NECBL for the 2021 season, which will begin on Friday, June 4 at Lynn's historic Fraser Field. Stay up to date on the latest Navs news by visiting nsnavs.com and following the team on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
