College Baseball Report #9
Below is the ninth Navs College Baseball Report of the 2026 season. Weekly installments will be posted by Tuesday throughout the spring.
LYNN, Mass. — The first pitch of another season of North Shore Navigators baseball is now less than two months away. With the countdown to June 5 continuing, here are the latest college highlights for the team's incoming players:
Bryant outfielder Hunter Kingsbury had one of his best weeks yet, going 6-for-12 with three RBI, four runs scored and six stolen bases. The Byfield native and Governor's Academy grad began the week with his first career four-hit game against UConn last Tuesday. He also walked five times and collected his third outfield assist of the season during the week. A .319 hitter, Kingsbury's season totals include 30 hits, 10 of which have gone for extra bases, and an on-base percentage of .375.
A pair of local pitchers were also effective during recent action, including Winchester native Thomas Mahoney who tossed 1.1 scoreless innings in consecutive weekend appearances against Merrimack and Maine. In the first outing, he induced a double play ball to escape a two-on jam. North Andover's Robert Brown III earned the second win of his freshman campaign for Penn State, tossing a career-high four strikeouts across two scoreless and hitless innings last Tuesday against FDU.
Returning Navigators shortstop Jack Rickheim has been on a recent tear at the plate, going 6-for-15 with five RBI across his last four games for Harvard. Half of his hits came in a 3-for-5 Saturday showing against Yale, when he homered and drove in three runs. He also recorded doubles in back-to-back games. Tyler Shulman reached base off four hits in as many games, including a double and a crucial fourth-inning RBI during the 5-3, series-opening victory.
Staying in the Ivy League, Luke Johnson continued his solid season at Cornell, posting a pair of multi-hit games during the Big Red's series against Penn. He drove in a run in each of the three weekend games, scored two more, and went a perfect 4-for-4 stealing bases. Columbia freshman Koby Seelig has gotten better with each outing this season. The Cambridge native earned his first collegiate start and victory last Wednesday against Fordham, pitching two innings of one-run ball. He has now allowed just two runs across his last three appearances.
Monmouth remains atop the CAA's North Division thanks to another strong week from North Shore returnee Simmi Whitehill, who was 7-for-17 with a double, five RBI, seven runs scored and four stolen bases across his last four games. He posted multiple hits in each of the Hawks' three straight weekend wins over Towson.
Shortstop Michael Brown continued leading off for Hofstra, notching a hit in each of his squad's three matchups with Stony Brook. That extended his hit streak to a season-high 11 games. On Friday, Brown homered for the first time in a month. The junior also hit his first triple of the season on Sunday. Brown scored three times and batted two runs throughout the series. His .340 average is a team-best and career-best mark.
High Point's Aidan Paul posted a bounce-back outing on Sunday, leading his team to a 4-1 win over Radford in the rubber game of their Big South series. He completed six innings, struck out four, and allowed six total baserunners, only one of which scored. Paul got stronger as the outing went on, as he retired the final 10 batters he faced en route to his fourth win. It was another strong week for fellow Panther Lane Allen, who added six hits to his season total, bringing him to 47, drove in three runs and stole his 12th base. Allen went 3-for-4 with a double in Sunday's finale, which was the team's 14th in the last 16 games.
Fellow infielder Hudson Ellis is riding an eight-game hit streak after helping Oral Roberts to a 3-1 week, beating Oklahoma State and continuing its run of Summit League series wins at Omaha. Ellis had two multi-hit and two multi-RBI games while totaling three doubles, including a game-winning, two-run knock against the Cowboys last Tuesday.
Jay Slater remains a staple of Northwestern's lineup and had one of the best performances of his season in Wednesday's win at UIC, hitting his fourth home run of the season while scoring twice. Two of the sophomore's three RBI for the week came in that game, and he also added a hit on Sunday against Purdue.
Pauly Mancino helped Bowling Green win three games last week, with his crowning moment coming Sunday against Central Michigan. He went 3-for-3 from the plate, blasted a home run and had four RBI. Mancino scored three times across the stretch and logged an additional hit Wednesday against Lourdes.
The two Division 3 products on North Shore's roster both contributed to their teams on Sunday. Bowdoin's Conor Moriarty had hits in three of his last four games and capped his past week with a two-run double in the series finale at Trinity. John Milewski lowered his ERA to 3.52 for the season at Brandeis after pitching 3.2 innings without allowing an earned run against NYU, marking the team's third straight win with him on the mound.
The Navigators will return to historic Fraser Field and the NECBL for their 19th summer season in 2026, with first pitch set for Friday, June 5. Stay up to date on the latest Navs news by visiting nsnavs.com and following the team on Facebook, X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram.
