Navs Post Huge First Week of Spring Nationwide
College Baseball Report #6
Below is the sixth Navs College Baseball Report of the 2026 season. Weekly installments will be posted by Tuesday throughout the spring.
LYNN, Mass. — Here are the latest college baseball highlights for incoming North Shore Navigators players:
It was a huge weekend for High Point, sweeping a series from Big South rival Presbyterian. Outfielder Lane Allen continued his strong campaign by going 6-for-13 with two doubles, two triples, five RBI and two runs scored. Allen recorded multiple hits in all three games, adding two runs, five RBI, two doubles and two triples to his already impressive season totals. He struck out only once. On the mound, Aidan Paul was solid over six innings in Sunday's 9-3 victory, allowing just two earned runs while striking out six. The win was his second of the season, and his 28 innings comfortably leads all to-be Navs for this upcoming summer.
Byfield native and Governor's Academy product Hunter Kingsbury has made some serious noise since returning to the Bryant lineup for the start of America East play. He was right in the middle of the Bulldogs' success during a 5-0 week, hitting 8-for-17 with three extra-base hits, six runs scored, five RBI and a pair of stolen bases. Kingsbury's biggest game week was on Tuesday against Holy Cross, as he went 3-for-4 with a triple and a three-run homer. Staying local, Peabody's own Danati Fronduto was a combined 5-for-9 with two home runs, nine RBI and four runs scored in just two games for San Jacinto College last week. Fronduto's nine round-trippers are the most on North Shore's current roster.
Continuing the recent success of incoming North Shore outfielders, Dayton's Grayson Carpenter recorded all of his four hits for extra bases. Most notably, the freshman had a three-run double in the first inning of the weekend series finale against VCU, a 14-12 victory for the Flyers. Pauly Mancino batted in at least one run in all three of Bowling Green's games against Ohio, marking his longest streak of the season. Three came courtesy of a three-run homer on Saturday, which was his second in a four-game span. The junior's 10 runs this season also rank second on the Falcons.
For Hofstra, shortstop Michael Brown had seven hits over the past week, with four coming in a 15-5 drubbing of New Haven on Tuesday. He also doubled and drove in two runs in that game. Brown scored nine runs throughout the stretch and leads the Pride with 17 for the season. The junior's .333 average is the best among the team's regulars. Brayden Gregg had his best week yet on the mound, pitching 5.2 scoreless innings across two appearances. He earned his first win of the season against Fairfield on Wednesday and leads the Pride with a 0.71 ERA.
Northwestern catcher Jay Slater ended a Big Ten weekend series with Oregon on a high note. In both the Saturday and Sunday games, he hit safely, scored a run and batted in at least one. The sophomore homered on Saturday for the third time this season. With Sunday's contest on the line, the Wildcats called on left-handed pitcher Justin Fryer in extra innings, and the freshman blanked the Ducks over two innings. The clutch performance, including a pair of strikeouts, earned Fryer his second win.
The busiest reliever last week was Merrimack righty Cole Yennaco, who was called upon for a save in two of the three games in which he appeared. The returning Navigator pitched a combined 3.2 scoreless innings against Northeastern and Canisius, with his inning last Tuesday leading the Warriors to their first-ever win over the Huskies. He now boasts a 1.74 ERA over 10.1 innings and has five saves on the season.
Returning North Shore backstop Aidan Sengenberger started last week by reaching base five times in Seton Hall's 14-1 Tuesday win over Wagner, going 3-for-3 with three doubles, three RBI, two runs scored and two walks. He has now reached base in nine straight games. Infielder Simmi Whitehill had hits in all four of Monmouth's games while driving in runs twice during a weekend with CAA rival Stony Brook, while Conor Moriarty carries a four-game hit streak into Bowdoin's final week before NESCAC play. Moriarty homered and drove in three in a 5-4 Tuesday win over Wisconsin-La Crosse before a multi-hit game against William Paterson.
Shortstop Jack Rickheim extended his hit streak to eight games after Harvard's games against Cal Baptist and Columbia last week, having recorded five hits across a two-game span and scored four runs while maintaining his leadoff spot in the batting order. In the first leg of a Saturday doubleheader, Crimson teammate Tyler Shulman doubled to help his first three-hit game of the season. He scored twice in the past week and is tied with Rickheim with eight runs on the spring.
Also on the infield, Hudson Ellis had hits in four of Oral Roberts' five games last week and had two hits and two RBI in two of them. He helped the Golden Eagles finish off a sweep of their Summit League rival St. Thomas on Sunday, going 2-for-4 with a run scored and two RBI.
The Navigators will return to historic Fraser Field and the NECBL for their 19th summer season in 2026, with first pitch set for Friday, June 5. Stay up to date on the latest Navs news by visiting nsnavs.com and following the team on Facebook, X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram.
