LYNN, Mass. — Here are the latest college baseball highlights for incoming North Shore Navigators players:

Returning NECBL All-Star Jesse Jaconski (Penn State) continued his strong run in Big Ten Conference play against Purdue, recording two doubles, two homers and five RBI across the three games. He was most prolific in a 13-6, series-clinching win on Saturday, hitting two doubles and a homer for three RBI as part of a 3-for-4 performance. Jaconski, who is hitting .305 with 41 RBI on the season, became the second Nittany Lion to reach double digits in homers when he blasted his 10th on Sunday.

Todd Clay (UAB) had another multi-home run week as he continued to lead the Blazers’ offense in their series against East Carolina. Over the weekend, he went 6-for-12 with two homers and four RBI, putting together three-hit performances on Thursday and again on Saturday. Clay went 3-for-4 in UAB’s 16-9 win to close the series. For the season, Clay is hitting .368 with a 1.029 OPS, five homers and 38 RBI in 40 games.

Jack Gold (Pomona-Pitzer) had a monster weekend in the Sagehens' SCIAC series sweep of Caltech, going 7-for-11 with a homer in each game while adding a double, six runs scored and 11 RBI. Gold had a five-RBI game and a three-hit game to help his team earn 15-2 and 7-0 wins, respectively, in a Saturday doubleheader. He ranks second among NCAA qualifiers with a 1.034 slugging percentage.

It was another strong week for both future Navigators at Monmouth. Ryan Mealy continued to shove on the hill, lengthening his scoreless innings streak to 16 against Elon. Six of those innings came on Sunday, as Mealy struck out five to help the Hawks secure a 3-0 victory to end the weekend. Simmi Whitehill picked up four hits over the course of the week as well, including going 2-for-4 with three RBI in a 13-2 midweek thrashing of Rutgers.

Ethan Wilson and Benjamin Rehkow played a huge role in the Winthrop Eagles going 4-0 last week. At the plate, Wilson went a combined 4-for-8 on Friday and Saturday as the team took on Gardner-Webb. His efforts included launching his seventh homer as a grand slam in a 15-0 Friday rout. Rehkow sprung back into action on the mound, picking up his first save of the season on Saturday as the Eagles won 7-5 to complete the weekend sweep.

Marc Willi (Massachusetts) continues to get comfortable in the box as the season progresses, posting another solid week with five hits and three walks against Sacred Heart and Atlantic 10 foe George Mason. The first baseman raised his average to .269, having gone 2-for-3 with two RBI on Tuesday before another multi-hit performance in the Minutemen’s 2-1 Saturday win. Owen Galt (Louisiana) hit safely in each of the Ragin' Cajuns' three games in a Sun Belt series victory over Old Dominion over the weekend, recording a double in a 6-5 Thursday win before going 2-for-4 with two runs scored and a stolen base on Saturday as Louisiana claimed the weekend with a 10-0 win. Galt is the Cajuns' second-leading hitter with a .291 average on the year.

Brody Dalton (St. John’s River State) continued to be an extra-base hit machine in the last three games for the Vikings, recording two doubles and driving in five runs. In 51 games this season, Dalton is hitting .348 with 17 homers, 15 doubles, and 52 RBI.

Using another teammate connection, Stonehill recorded its second consecutive Northeast Conference series win, as Aidan Sengenberger and Sam Parks each contributed hits in Saturday and Sunday victories over Le Moyne. Sengenberger hit an RBI double in a 5-4 Saturday win, helping to move his season average to .340 which is second on the team. Parks scored a run in both games.

Back on the pitching side, two locals returning to the North Shore staff picked up their first wins of the spring this past week. Swampscott’s Pierce Friedman (Maine) struck out three in both of his two relief outings, including a perfect six-out Wednesday effort against UMaine-Farmington. It was Friedman’s third straight scoreless appearance. Peabody native and St. John’s Prep grad Joe Castrichini (Longwood) worked a scoreless inning with two strikeouts last Tuesday in an 8-6 triumph last Tuesday at William & Mary.

Nahant’s Nick Reiser (Bridgewater State) posted his third save of the season in the Bears’ series-opening, 10-7 victory over MASCAC rival Worcester State on Friday. Reiser was perfect in recording the final four outs of the game, striking out one.

Although Princeton did not come out victorious on Sunday, Liam Kinneen had a strong outing on the mound working through four innings, striking out six Brown Bears, and only surrendering one run. The Lexington native has now struck out 33 batters in his 36 innings of work in his freshman campaign.

The Navigators will return to historic Fraser Field and the NECBL for their 18th summer collegiate season in 2025, with first pitch set for Tuesday, June 3 against the Northern Division rival Upper Valley Nighthawks.
